How to Get Rid of Cellulite

With summer approaching and better weather on the way - let's hope so anyway(!) - now is the time we start to think about purchasing new swimwear, dusting off the shorts and heading to a hot beach. But these steps closer to summer inevitably means your legs will be on display! We are all about body positivity, but if the thought of rocking your two-piece by the pool fills you with dread, we've got the products and in-clinic treatments you need to boost your body confidence

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the visible dimpling of skin - most often on the thighs, bottom and hips - caused by subcutaneous fat. Cellulite affects most people, regardless of body shape or weight, however it can worsen with age. It's often described as “the orange peel effect with dimples visible around the bottom, top of the thigh area and in some cases the condition can extend onto the front of the leg too. Poor diet, smoking and alcohol can also play a part in worsening cellulite.

#NoFilter

Modern life through a filtered social media screen, means many people believe this is how we should look in real life. With most pictures being edited and filtered for a more aesthetically appealing look, this creates an unrealistic outlook on body image. We might not be able to offer a real life Instagram filter, but we can help with our expert tips, products and treatments, as well as following a healthy diet by reducing sugars and fats in the diet and drinking plenty of fluids.A healthy diet in combination with specific exercises targeting the gluteus maximus, hamstrings and quadriceps, can contribute to texture improvements in skin tone in the problem areas.

Products to reduce cellulite

There are some homecare regimes that can be used on a daily basis to make dramatic improvements. Try using a body brush, which is a proven method to boost blood flow to the area and promote lymphatic drainage. To further improve the results of dry body brushing, the Mesoestetic Bodyshock Local Reducer containing caffeine - a natural stimulant - helps to breakdown fat cells, stimulate circulation and increase blood flow to problem areas, helping to support the natural process of fat breakdown and removal.

Treatments to reduce cellulite

Lipotripsy is a very effective treatment for reducing cellulite, it provides improved blood flow to the skin and reduces the volume of fat by helping cells to flush away unwanted fatty acids.Lipotripsy works by stimulating fat breakdown, collagen synthesis and lymphatic drainage. Lipotripsy is delivered by placing a probe against the area of cellulite, as it passes over the area it emits radial waves through the skin. As the radial wave passes through the skin, it activates fat cells and increases blood flow. This in turn reduces the cellulite appearance and improves skin elasticity. The combination of the radial wave probe with a lymphatic drainage massage is a proven treatment therapy to redefine and contour problem areas of the body.
