Tried & Tested: SPFs for Oily Skin
When it comes to those of us with oily skins, SPFs tend to be our most feared product. We know we need them, but the thought of having to where something thick, heavy and greasy is a big no-no. With summer coming up, I decided to trail sunscreens designed for us oily-skinned guys and gals so you don't have to. You can thank me later!

Heliocare 360 Gel Oil Free SPF 50

Heliocare are our biggest selling sunscreen range and it's no surprise as there's a formula to suit all skin types. There's a couple that are suitable for oily skins, but I decided to try this one as it promised a 'dry touch' finish. The product applied really easily and sunk into the skin almost immediately. There was no white cast left behind and it really did leave that dry touch finish to the skin. Shine levels were definitely reduced throughout the day, so I can imagine this one would be ideal for heavily oiled skins or if you're on holiday when the hot weather leaves skin prone to excess shine.

Verdict: 4/5

SkinCeuticals Mineral Matte UV Defense SPF 30

This is the latest arrival to the market and the only one I tested with a tint. I must say I was dubious about this one. I tend to find that tinted moisturiser/sunscreen type products also leave me extra shiny. Plus, I was worried that the universal tint would be too dark for my light skin.Upon first application, the product felt almost chalky and powdery and the tint looked very orangey on my fair complexion. What have I done? However, after a couple of seconds something changed The formula began to smooth over my skin with ease. The colour adapted to my skin tone for the perfect match. It left a really smooth, matte finish but not in a false powdery type way. I found the tint nicely concealed the redness on my cheeks left behind from breakouts, so I actually dared to go to the supermarket without foundation on, which is something I'd never dream to do. However, I do feel that the matte finish didn't last as long with this as with the others.

Verdict: 3/5

Image Skincare Prevention+ Daily Matte Moisturiser SPF 30

I'll admit from the off, this was by far my favourite and my new morning SPF. Despite the name, I don't think this gives a name finish in the traditional sense. I love that this oil free formula absorbs and controls my oil levels without leaving skin looking completely flat. It allows your skin's natural radiance to shine through without any hint of shine. It applies really nicely, it smells lovely and is the perfect base for my daily make up. I'm coming in love with this product and can't imagine using anything else.

Verdict: 5/5
