Introducing BIOEFFECT

Here at Face the Future, we like to source the very best skincare products to bring to you, and our latest offering comes all the way from Iceland. With plenty of celebrity fans, varying from Hollywood star Uma Thurman and beauty editor Sali Hughes, BIOEFFECT is set to be a fantastic edition to our product range. Here is the lowdown on our newest brand.

Where did the brand begin?

Back in 2001, three Icelandic scientists formed a biotechnology company. Their main area of research was aiming to produce purer human-like cellular activators from barley, due to its ability to produce and protect proteins. By 2005, they had found a revolutionary way of producing pure, animal free human-like cell activators from barley seeds, and in 2010, their EGF Serum was born.

What should I try first?

BIOEFFECT have a whole range of products, but their EGF Serum has earned itself a bit of a cult status in the beauty world. There are plenty of skincare and cosmetic awards for products to pick up, but this serum has taken it one step further with a Nobel Prize. That's right, the research that went into this product has been so significant to the scientific community that Dr. Stanley Cohen and Dr. Rita Levi-Montalcini won the Nobel Prize in Medicine.

So, what exactly does this wonder product do?

The key ingredient in this product is BIOEFFECT's Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF). EGF is a naturally occurring substance in the body but our levels deplete as we age, causing a loss of elasticity and radiance. This serum stimulates cellular renewal, which works to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, brighten dark circles, refine the eye contour and even the skin tone. With use, skin is firmer, suppler and more radiant. Plus, 30% of women over 30 in BIOEFFECT's homeland, Iceland, use this product on a regular basis and that many women can't be wrong!
