Tried & Tested: Skin Republic Foot Peel

Foot peels are one of my favourite body care products “ I am fully obsessed with them. *Gross TMI alert* I get really dry, cracked, rough and hard skin on the side of my feet and the heel so regular foot maintenance is important to me.

After a three week tour of European cities this summer, my feet took a bit of a hammering and I returned with exceptionally dry feet, even for me. Luckily, the Skin Republic Foot Peel launched upon my return so I was able to give a good test for their effectiveness.

What are foot peels?

Foot peels involve wearing a plastic sock filled with exfoliating liquid for around 2 hours. After this treatment time, you wait and watch your feet shed like a snake over the next 7-10 days. It's either highly satisfying or completely disgusting, depending on your take on things like this. I'm firmly in the oh-so-satisfying camp.

How do they work?

The exfoliating liquid contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) that dissolve the glue that binds dead skin cells to the surface. In this instance, they peel the top layer of skin to reveal the fresh, soft and smooth skin underneath.

What are the results?

Don't worry, I won't subject you to before and after photos of my feet. However, I can confirm that my feet went from rough and overworked to silky smooth in just a week. I found the actual peeling process must quicker than other brands I've tried in the past, making it far more convenient.I've found some foot peels can leave skin quite uncomfortable and tight in the period after treatment and before the peeling begins. However, the Skin Republic ones are enriched with a blend of 15 plant extracts that are rich in vitamin E to soothe. The Skin Republic socks are by far the best I've used. Unlike many others, they have a sticky tab to ensure they are secured to your feet so you can move around without risk of leaking the exfoliating liquid.I am 100% impressed with this peel. I am now looking to try the Skin Republic Foot Repair to maintain my results.Written for you by: Ellie, Face the FutureImage source:
