Cruelty-Free Makeup With Jane Iredale

Cruelty-Free Makeup With Jane Iredale

Cruelty-free was historically a nice addition to the makeup brands we use, but in 2020 isn't this something we expect to see in all the products that are sold in the UK? In this day and age, where the words 'clean' and 'natural' are used liberally across UK advertising, how can we be sure it is just that?

We are delighted to take you through some of the Face the Future makeup products that are just that - PETA-approved, cruelty-free products with ECOCERT standards.

You have probably heard of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) before, but what is ECOCERT? ECOCERT was the very first certification body to develop standards for natural and organic cosmetics. Introduced in 2003, the specification was drawn up in conjunction with all stakeholders in the value chain, i.e. experts, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, consumers and development organisations.

Jane Iredale believes that makeup should never be used to hide yourself, but instead to enhance natural beauty. Jane was inspired to create her makeup range after seeing for herself the ill-effects of makeup that models and actresses wore at auditions and photoshoots. Working with women whose careers depended on a clear completion (as well as their self-confidence), this gave Jane the inspiration to develop cosmetics that not only worked hard, but cared for skin too.
