Photo Rejuvenation at Face the Futur

Photo Rejuvenation LeedsWhat is Photo Rejuvenation?
Photo rejuvenation is a treatment designed to produce a healthier and younger looking skin.

As we age, lifestyle choices, environmental damage and sun exposure all take their toll on our skin. Age spots, freckles, uneven pigmentation, lines, wrinkles, redness and rosacea can all be signs of premature ageing and damage caused by the type of environment we live in and the lifestyle choices that we make.

What is the treatment method?
Most of these ‘marks of time’ can be softened and often dramatically reduced by using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology.

What is Intense Pulsed Light?
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology is a treatment breakthrough that can correct a variety of skin conditions. Photo-therapy uses intense pulses of red light all over the face to stimulate the growth of new collagen and elastin fibres in the deeper layers of the skin. This improves firmness and overall texture of the skin. Additionally, pulses of yellow light can be used to remove broken capillaries and abnormal pigmentation.
Face the Future is proud to offer IPL technology via Lynton Lasers Ltd, who are globally acknowledged as a leading British company specialising in the design, development and manufacture of laser and light systems. Their systems can be found in many UK hospitals, both private and NHS and are used by dermatologists, cosmetic doctors and nurses.

What results can I expect to see?
This treatment offers an innovative method of freshening, brightening and tightening the skin, resulting in a more youthful appearance. Pigmentation marks may fade and often age spots and freckles disappear all together. Lines and wrinkles soften as collagen and elastin production is stimulated and an overall tightening of skin is observed. Vascular areas of redness and rosacea may clear, leaving a clearer and more even toned skin.

How long does treatment take?
One treatment is enough to see an improvement in the skin, however four to six sessions are recommended, to ensure maximum benefit.

There is minimal discomfort with this treatment and one session takes approximately 15 – 30mins. No anaesthetic is required and most patients liken it to a quick pin prick.

Skin may be a little red and feel a warm after treatment and it usual for pigmentation marks to darken, before eventually flaking off, leaving a brighter fresher skin beneath. Tightening of skin will continue over the next few months as new collagen is deposited within the dermis.

It is important to use a sun screen with a minimum of SPF 15 after these treatments.

Treatment results can be enhanced further by combining IPL with either chemical peels or microdermabrasion. This is called Combination Facial Therapy (CFT).
