New Skin Resolutions

New Skin Resolutions

We're five days into January; how many of you have already broken your new years resolutions? This year, instead of setting unrealistic goals, realising I'll never achieve them and falling back into old habits, I've decided to instead make new skin resolutions. I enjoy looking after my skin, so these should be pretty easy to keep up! If you're wanting to make 2017 your year of fabulous skin, take up some of these resolutions.

I promise to double cleanse

Make up and SPF clog the pores. Fact. Even non-comedogenic (aka non-pore-clogging) formulas can sometimes get right in there, so it takes a good old deep clean to get them out. This is why you should double cleanse everyday.Think of it this way: your first cleanse removes all the make up and surface level dirt on your face, but when you go in for your second cleanse, you're cleansing out the pores and removing those invisible impurities that build up throughout the day. Once is fine on a morning, but twice on an evening is essential.

I promise to wear SPF everyday

I've said it before but I'll keep saying it until everyone is protected. The sun's UVA rays are the rays that cause premature signs of ageing. These rays are present at the same strength through all day light hours, all year round. To prevent lines, wrinkles and dark spots, wear a broad spectrum SPF of 15 or higher every single day. Simple.

I promise to step away from the scrubs

Although skin feels super clean and soft after a scrub, the harsh particles damage the skin's outer barrier. A weakened barrier leads to sensitivity, irritation and dryness. If you're scrubbing and scrubbing but your skin is still dull, this will be why. Opt for something that will naturally stimulate cellular turnover instead, such as vitamin A.

I promise to take my supplements

This is my resolution. I used to be an avid taker on the ANP Skin Omegas, but got to a stage when I wasn't really sure what difference I was seeing. I then got lazy and kept forgetting to pick up a new pack and when I did I was forgetting to take them. You know the saying you don't know what you've got until its gone? That is so true. Without the Skin Omegas, my skin has gone back to being quite dehydrated and my foundation sinks into my skin throughout the day as it eats up the moisture. It's safe to say, Skin Omegas are back on my top priority skincare list!
