Which? Present Laser Hair Removal in Negative Light
Industry insiders have expressed concerns that Which? research stating that millions of British women are putting themselves at risk owing to their lack of awareness about laser hair removal, could generate unnecessarily scaremongering stories.
Which?, the consumer watchdog, said that of the estimated six million British women considering laser, 74% were unaware that having a natural tan could affect the procedure and just over two thirds did not realise that a fake tan would make a difference to the effects of laser on their skin. The research also found that over half of the women were unaware that a heart condition could cause complications and 65% were unaware that diabetes as well as certain medications could influence treatment.
Acne Case Study
Amjid from Headingley visited us three weeks ago for a free consultation to see if we could do anything to treat his acne. He had suffered from acne from the age of 15 and decided it was finally time to look for a solution that would get a permanent result. Amjid is currently a student studying law, however he is in his last year and will be looking for jobs after he has finished his course. He felt that this was the best time to invest in his skin so that he would feel more confident when it comes to finding a job in such a professional industry.
We have devised a 12 week programme for Amjid which will include treatments to stop the pustules and papules from coming and then once we have cleared these we are going to carry out a range treatments that will fade the scars that are present as a result of suffering from acne for the last 7 years.
Laser Hair Removal Case Study
Here at Face the Future we offer one of the most popular and effective treatments for permanently reducing hair, Laser Hair Removal.
This method of permanent hair removal is an excellent solution for the removal of unwanted hair and can permanently reduce the hair on back, face, legs, underarm, bikini line, buttocks and actually almost all areas of the body.
Essential Fatty Acids
At this time of year when it’s cold outside and warm inside with the central heating blowing out skin becomes dry and rough and are we getting enough nutrients.
Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are vital for healthy skin, hair, nails and wound healing to name but a few. So where do we get these little wonders from I here you ask – well – largely from vegetables, seeds, nuts and cold-water fish.
To ensure you obtain sufficient EFAs your diet should include…
Juvéderm Being Totally Honest
Here’s a case where the advert was proven to be within the law. Allergan have embarked on a massive public awareness campaign for their latest product Juvéderm® ULTRA. I wonder who lodged the complaints, I cannot believe children seeing this advert would put Juvéderm on their letter to Santa, and if they did what would anybody be able to fill on a child?
Even if the clinician had left their morals and common sense at home. The claim by somebody that Juvéderm should only be administered by a qualified medical aesthetic practitioner was also upheld because it is completely correct.
Estée Lauder False Advertising
Most of the large cosmetic companies make fantastic claims with their so called “magic” creams, and this piece published in aesthetic medicine magazine this week makes interesting reading for anyone baffled by how these companies can make such claims.
Estée Lauder used a very small sample of 25 women in the study (I wonder how many women work at their head office?). They used high magnification to overemphasise the results which the human eye could not possibly detect. The A.S.A is right to disapprove of this advert because obviously, most consumers would not expect to need a microscope to see a result!!
Prevention is Better than the Cure
At Face the Future we achieve excellent results with Danne Montague-King treatments and products. We use them to treat acne, premature ageing, rosacea and many more.
We stock a full range of products and one of our practitioners will see you and prescribe a skin care range suitable for you.
Many beauticians / skin specialists will diagnose your skin as dry, oily or combination, but skin is not as simple as this.
Acoustic Wave Therapy (Cellulite) Extended!
The original 5 week trial of the latest advanced treatment for removing cellulite, Acoustic Wave Therapy, has been extended for an additional 4 weeks!
This fantastic treatments, used all over the world by celebrities such as Madonna, is available for on £39 per treatment. At clinics in London, the cost of this treatment is around £150 per treatment.
Quick Guide to Cellulite:
Cellulite, this refers to the dimpled appearance of the skin that some people have on hips, thighs and buttocks and effects people whether they are overweight or not. Unfortunately this is much more common in women than men.
The lumpiness of cellulite is caused by fat deposits that push and distort the connective tissue beneath the skin.
It’s Cold and Grey but your Sunscreen Should Stay
Winter in the UK means cold, windy, snowy weather without much sunlight to offset the chill. You’re likely spending much more time indoors and less time outdoors, not to mention wearing more clothing to stay warm. With less time spent outside and a minimal amount of exposed skin, you may have given up on your daily use of sunscreen. After all, if you’re rarely outside and there’s no visible sun, what’s the point, right? Wrong! Although the sun may not be shining and the hours of daylight are fewer than during spring and summer, abandoning your daily sunscreen habit would be a skin care (meaning anti wrinkle) mistake. Here’s why:
Even when you’re clothed in layers to defend against the cold, chances are good that a portion of your face, if not all of it, is still exposed. That means sun damage is still taking place if you didn’t apply sunscreen. Whether it’s the middle of January or you’re heading to the beach in June, you need sunscreen 365 days a year. It’s not just UVA and UVB rays but that visible light spectrum that can cause those premature wrinkles.
Treating Acne
Overview:
Here at Face the Future we specialise in acne treatments and products that actually work, by implementing an “acne corrective system” from one of the UK’s leading paramedical skin care developers, Danné Montague-King.
We get fantastic results using both home care and in clinic treatments, for all levels of acne. We have specific acne prescriptive ranges, which after a free consultation you can purchase to start to the ball rolling.
For severe acne, we recommend coming into the clinic for a Danné acne treatment, however over the last few months many of our patients have noticed a significant difference by just using the Danné acne prescriptive products.
